Why Next.js and React?+
Because it's the most widely used stack for modern web applications, which matters more than any technical argument: hosting is cheap and simple, the ecosystem is huge, and if you ever want another developer to take over, you'll find one tomorrow. On top of that it's genuinely good: fast pages, one language (TypeScript) across frontend and backend, and a component model that keeps large apps maintainable.
Do you also work on existing codebases, or only new builds?+
Both. New builds are the cleanest, but a lot of my work starts inside an existing React or Next.js codebase that lost its developer: I read myself in, stabilise what's fragile, and then extend. The one thing I don't take on is ongoing work in outdated legacy stacks — for those I'll help you plan a migration to a modern one instead.
What does a custom web app cost?+
It depends on scope, so I won't pretend there's one number — but I can give you a real one fast. After a first conversation you get a fixed-scope estimate broken into phases, so you can start with an MVP and decide per phase whether to continue. My estimates tend to hold; clients mention that more often than the code.
