Questions I actually get asked

Every answer below is the same one you'd get on a call, including the ones that don't sell. Deep-dive articles behind the 'learn more' links.

How much does a Shopify product configurator cost?+

It depends on pricing complexity, previews and admin needs. A focused configurator is typically a few weeks of work; multi-product or multi-store platforms take longer. You'll get a fixed, scoped quote before anything starts.

Can you connect Shopify to our ERP or backoffice system?+

Almost certainly. If your system has any kind of API (modern REST, SOAP, or even CSV exports), I can build a reliable sync. I've connected Shopify to Microsoft Business Central, Lightspeed POS and several legacy systems.

Do you work white-label for agencies?+

Yes. A large share of my work is exactly that: agencies hand me designs or specs, I deliver the build. Your client never has to know I exist; I work in your tools under your flag.

Custom theme, custom app, or an app-store app: what do I actually need?+

Rule of thumb: visual and content changes → theme; new functionality for your store only → private app or theme customization; functionality tied to checkout/discounts → Shopify Functions. A good app-store app beats custom when it genuinely fits.

How long does custom Shopify work take?+

Single sections or fixes: days. Custom PDPs, cart drawers, integrations: one to three weeks. Configurators, apps and full themes: several weeks to a few months. You get a concrete timeline with the quote, and I'm known for actually hitting them.

Our theme is a mess after years of edits. Can you fix it without rebuilding everything?+

Usually, yes. I start with an audit that separates 'dead weight' from 'load-bearing', then clean up in stages on a duplicate theme, so the store keeps selling throughout. Full rebuilds are a last resort, not a default.

Do you work with Shopify Plus?+

Yes, including the Plus-only surface: checkout UI extensions, Shopify Functions for discounts/payments/delivery, B2B features and multi-store setups. Most of my work runs on standard plans too; Plus just unlocks the checkout.

How do you charge: hourly or fixed price?+

Both, depending on the work. Scoped projects get a fixed price so you know where you stand. Ongoing collaboration (agencies, retainers) usually runs hourly or per sprint. Either way: quote first, no surprises.

We have Figma designs. Can you implement them exactly as designed?+

That's my favorite kind of work. Pixel-perfect against the Figma file (spacing, type, states, animations), while keeping everything editable in the theme editor and fast on mobile.

Is headless Shopify worth it?+

For most stores, no: a great theme is cheaper and plenty fast. Headless wins when your concept is really a platform: member areas, courses, complex content, app-like UX. I build both and will tell you honestly which fits.

We glued our workflow together with apps and Zapier. Should we replace it with custom code?+

Only where it hurts: high-volume flows, business-critical syncs, or chains that break monthly. Cheap stable zaps can stay. I'll audit the chain and replace only the links where custom code genuinely pays for itself.

Where are you based and in which languages do you work?+

I'm based in the Westland region of Zuid-Holland, between Rotterdam, The Hague and Delft, and work in fluent English and Dutch with clients and agencies across the Netherlands, Europe and beyond. Remote-first, CET timezone, used to async collaboration in whatever tools your team runs.

Do you offer ongoing support after a project ships?+

Yes. Everything ships with documentation, and you can keep me on for maintenance, iterations or a monthly block of hours. Many clients start with one project and stay for years.

What does working together look like, step by step?+

1) Intro call (30 min, free) to understand what you need. 2) Written scope with fixed price and timeline. 3) Build, with progress updates you don't have to ask for. 4) Launch, documentation and handover. Start by booking the call or configuring your project on this site.

Question not in the list?

A 30-minute intro call is free, honest and concrete: you'll leave knowing whether it can be built, roughly what it takes, and whether I'm the right person. No pitch deck, no pressure.
